I regret to advise that change of marital status must now be done in person at the department of home affairs. This may no longer be done by a nominated third party. It seems that home affairs require the applicant to go to the home affairs office CLOSEST to the court in which the divorce took place.
Ps. Word is that people who go to Edenvale Home Affairs and Roodepoort office are able to have a marital status amended immediately at the counter.
