1. Do you and your partner want to
be treated equally in all financial matters?
2. Do you want to share all the assets
that you have before marriage and
after marriage with your partner?
3. Do you want to share all the debts
that you have before marriage with
your partner?
4. Do you want to be financially dependent
on your partner?
If you answered yes to these questions,
marriage in community of property is better suited for you.
Marriage out community of property with the
inclusion of the accrual
1. Do you want to be financially
independent of your partner?
2. Do you want to retain assets that
were in your name before marriage?
3. At the end of the marriage,
do you want to share the assets that you and
your partner acquired during the marriage?
4. Do you want to make financial decisions
and sign contracts without the
assistance of your partner?
5. Do you want to be protected from
your partner’s debts and financial
decisions and not be liable for their debts?
6. Are you planning to stay at home
during the marriage and if so, do you
still want to benefit from the assets
that are acquired in your partner’s name?
7. Will you earn less than your partner
during the marriage and if so, do
you still want to benefit from the assets
that are acquired in your partner’s name?
8. Are you going to be the primary breadwinner
in the family and if so, are you willing to share your assets
with your spouse who may not earn as
much as you or may stay at home?
If you answered yes to these questions,
marriage out community of property with the inclusion
of the accrual is better suited for you.
Marriage out community of property with the
exclusion of the accrual
1. Do you want to be financially
independent of your partner?
2. Do you want to retain the assets
that were in your name before marriage?
3. Do you want to retain the assets
that are in your name at the end of the marriage?
4. Do you want to make financial decisions
and sign contracts without the assistance of your partner?
5. Are you happy that your partner
will not share the assets that are in their
name at the end of the marriage?
6. Do you want to be protected from
your partner’s debts and financial
decisions and not be liable for their debts?
If you answered yes to these questions,
